Bryant had a season-best six 3-pointers and scored 39 points in a 116-105 loss Tuesday to the visiting New Orleans Hornets. The defeat snapped a 15-game winning streak at the Staples Center for the Lakers. Bryant finished 6-for-7 from behind the arc and 14-of-22 from the field.

The Scoop: Bryant has averaged 34.0 points in his last four games and has scored 27.1 points per game this season.

  Hornets: David West Wed, Jan 7 2009 1:10 PST

West tied a career high with 40 points in Tuesday's 116-105 win in Los Angeles. The Hornets forward scored 15 points in the final quarter to break the Lakers' 15-game home winning streak. He also finished 14-for-23 from the field and 12-of-13 from the line. He also grabbed 11 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season.

The Scoop: West has reached double figures in all 31 games this season and has a streak of 84 games with 10 or more points dating back to Dec. 14, 2007, at Dallas. He last scored 40 points on Nov. 16, 2007, against Memphis.
