West tied a career high with 40 points in Tuesday's 116-105 win in Los Angeles. The Hornets forward scored 15 points in the final quarter to break the Lakers' 15-game home winning streak. He also finished 14-for-23 from the field and 12-of-13 from the line. He also grabbed 11 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season.
The Scoop: West has reached double figures in all 31 games this season and has a streak of 84 games with 10 or more points dating back to Dec. 14, 2007, at Dallas. He last scored 40 points on Nov. 16, 2007, against Memphis.
